Made it out for one last weekend before the season ends. Was a perfect weekend weather wise, not a lick of wind. Ice conditions were great, tons of ice and some fresh snow that came down on Friday. The snow was nice to have for sledding. Stayed at the Super 8 in town.

Saturday 30+ Pickerel and 16 Perch.
Sunday 20+ Pickerel and dozen Perch.
Monday 20+ Pickerel and 40+ Perch.

On Monday the fishing was slow. I had a few Shiners left and I bought a scoop of Pinheads (bait shop had no Shiners left) All day I had lots fish come up and take a look at my ď go toĒ lures (glow shots and buck shots tipped with half a Shiner and ripín raps) then go back down to the bottom. I changed it up to a small Tungsten jig tipped with a small Pinhead. Was like magic! After that, every fish that came in and took a look hit the small jig! Was killer with the Perch! Had those small jigs in my tackle box for over 10 years!

No keepers. A few that we close!

Was lucky enough to spend about 15 days out ice fishing on Nipissing this year. What a great season! Met lots of friendly fellow anglers out on the ice. Good luck in your soft water seasons, weíll see you next year!

I have caught a few blue perch this year but on lake couchiching. I figured it was diet related?

Great report! I've come a across a few of those blue perch out my way over the last few years. Even a few that are partially blue and partially regular colors.
