Headed out of Dalhousie today to get the lines wet and hoped to get into some decent fish. We were not disappointed and were kept relatively busy all morning. Started tighter in about 70’ of water and moved east towards the Bar, exploring various water depths along the way. Noticed water temp was a consistent 42-44 degrees down 55’ from the 70’ Mark all the way out into 230’, which surprised me given the winds we’ve had recently.

Got setup around 6am, 4 rod spread (2 riggers 2 dipseys). Not long after setting up had our first hit on a rigger and boxed a nice 10lb King. Action continued all morning, and we ended up 15/17. Lost a shaker at the back of the boat and a nice king that had some shoulders trying to manage him around the other lines.

Majority of the fish came on an orange RV flounder moonshine spoon or
A Stinger Salmon Viagra. Tried throwing some flies out but no luck.

On a positive note the Midge flies seem to have subsided a bit from last week which was a welcome change. Ended up keeping 4 decent eaters for smoker Tuesday, making some salmon candy
