When I just read the article it included lake sturgeon being stuck inside of the gill net and started to decompose. If I'm not mistaken isn't lake sturgeon an indangered species and closed all year in Ontario? I'm not familiar with lake Erie but if lake sturgeon are closed in that lake shouldn't the boat be shutdown? If that was us who did that to a sturgeon we would be fined and in jail.

I have a very funny joke for you guys. A commercial fisherman was fined for letting 880kg of fish spoil... that's it

You left out the funny part.... he was only slapped with $7500 in fines and will most likely do it again or have done it many times.

the fine is the joke's punch line.
