As this forum has many members that have fished Simcoe for long periods of time, I'm curios... how big of a pike have you seen/heard/caught from Lake Simcoe?

I have no doubt the lake holds many a monster, but has anyone really caught one?

I'm happy catching numerous 4-8 pounders, with the select 9-13 pounders every season, but I am yet to pull a 15-20 or even better, a 25+.

Just wanted to ask if anyone can share their stories about the giant toothy critters they have encountered in Lake Simcoe.

Still hunting for the big catch, but would love to hear what details the crew here know of.

Pics to go with the story are more than welcome!
All the best folks!

Over 25 years ago...my brother was perch fishing in the winter......in a hut with one of those red and white plastic rods where the reel is built into the rod......crappy line and a pin head minnow....all of a sudden this pike hits........fought it forever but managed to get it top side.....over 20 lbs.....he got it stuffed......next time I'm at the cottage I'll take a pic!

The Allandale boat ramp back in 1985 to about 1990 there were 5 retired gentlemen would fish from shore with 4'' minnows under large slip floats . These old boys smoked there cigars shot the breeze and landed several pike anywhere from 8 to 25 lb. I personally saw several 15 lb. landed including my own. Seems people die and so does the fishing . They were happy friendly bunch of guys

43 is a big one! I'm really trying to crack that 40 mark. A few 38s, one 39, and countless 30-37... that 40 is elusive! Lol

Thanks for sharing all!
