I was on the water off the 9th of Oro just after 7:30 AM. Lake was flat calm and no wind.
It ended up being a solo trip as I gave up after trying 4 different friends to see if they wanted to come. None were able to and they ended up being the wise ones.
I ran out to 70fow and did the Grandpa Jim method of dragging the cannonball for over an hour and using flutter spoons. Went from 70 to 105 ft. NADA.
Anchored in 105fow and jigged-NADA.
Marked lots of fish while dragging the ball and jigging, but no takers.
Set up and trolled for the next 4 hours in 90 to 120fow down as far as line 5. Used all kinds of spoons and Rapalas and used a cheater-marked all kinds of fish, but still--NADA. While I marked lots of fish, I think a lot of them are herring.
Few other boats out, but I never saw any of them get fish.
It was really hot, so I quit at 1PM.
That's it for me on Simcoe this year. Once we get some cold weather, I'm back to Collingwood.

Nice report Ralph, no fish, your smoker must be getting lonely. Sorry I couldn't make it, as of today I now have a new furnace and AC. It's been miserable around here with no air. Just in time for the cold front. haha
