I have never seen anyone descale a fish that way or even heard of it , i must be getting old I guess that method works for white fish to ? Oh really nice catch of perch , the wife and i are going later this afternoon ...

Works on any fish with scales. Whitefish are not prickly and scales come off easy enough with a back of a knife so i do it manually bit for perch crappie and other panfish power washer does wonders. You are not getting old. I just happened to come across a YouTube video of someone doing it when I typed in how to scale fish quickly on my last perch haul this past spring.
