Actual catch limit

Ok just looking over the limits for non- resident conservation fishing license. If you have a conservation license and are fishing on the actual lake. What are the limit for walleye??
On the top of the page it has-
2; none between 43-60 cm (16.9-23.6 in.), not more than 1 greater than 60 cm (23.6 in.)

However in the “exceptions” it has -
1, none less than 46 cm (18.1 in.)

We need to renew and wanted to know for sure, thanks

The first reg is the general one for zone 11. The exception is the pertinent reg if you're fishing on Nipissing. So with a conservation license the limit would be 1 fish and it has to be over 18.1 inches. With a sport license you would be allowed to keep 2 fish (both would need to be above 18.1 inches).

What Chuck said......with Nipissing you have to read the rules and the exceptions as both apply to fishing Nipissing.

Thanks that is what I thought I read, kinda sad I remember as a kid 6 was our limit now it’s 1. Still the most beautiful area

Critical to ensure the future of the lake. With so many people fishing a compromise had to be made. And it's working, the lake it recovering nicely. In fact the last few years have been the best in a long time.

Thats great news.I guess 20 years with a 2 month reduced season along with a 75% reduced angler catch is working for us

It nice to see that with the proper fishing regulation we call all help in the recovery of the lake. I think that a lot of the smaller Ontario lakes could also benefit from some strong fishing regulations.

Deerhunter, There are already Strong Regs in place everywhere on small lakes.
Lake trout [tight season]and Spec's [ 1 over 12 in ] and stocking as well, No worries there.
