How old is your brother Beanstir? this guy was probably 45-50 years old. We thought there may have been someone laying down inside but didnt really see any room where one could lay down.

Nice fish Pikers, we were skunked again last night, my one buddy got an 11lber though

southpaw24, brother is a little over 50. He had a 15 year old out, spend most of the weekend on the floor sleeping. Brother is going to give it another try this weekend minus the nephew. I am waiting until after the derby to get back on the bay. Good luck on the derby.

Fishing has been good for dad and myself. Nothing huge for either of us but have managed to make the daily board twice, and fingers crossed maybe a third time today. Not sure how much more trolling time I will be putting in for the rest of the derby.

Good luck theres gotta be a 25lber out there still.

Finally!! Got a 10lber this morning just before 6. We had lost one about 20feet from the boat about 10 minutes earlier and we had just put everything back down and 5 minutes later the rod went again. We got him netted and in the boat, then I got the lure out of his mouth and got him in the cooler. Went to get the hooks out of the net and the lure wasn't on the line anymore. The hook part of the swivel had broke went we netted him. Got a little lucky but it was about time

Good job southpaw24. Nice to get one.My old lady had a big one on this morning and broke the line. Even worse it jumped a couple times after it broke and I could see my lure lol. Hope to get something with some size yet.

Damn thats some bad luck there Piker, and then for the fish to jump and show you the lure to add insult to injury.

Was out this morning and had one knock off, didnt sound like there was much action in the marina when we got back. hopefully we get some more rain today to pick things up a bit more

I saw the 26er in the cooler this morning, its definitely gonna be tough to beat. The guy that caught it goes fishing with my father in laws brother. Hes a good guy so it'll be nice if he holds on. We were out this morning and it was pretty rough, at least meter high swells, and then it started to drizzle a bit then the fog rolled in. We were off the water by 8. My buddy got 2 last night a 10 and 12lber on herrings in 70 fow.

Just read that there were just over 1500 fish entered into the derby this year with between 400-500 anglers entered in the derby. Was a fun week despite only getting one in the boat, and the sometimes questiuonable weather but lots of fun.
