Hey all,

Heading up to a cottage near Oliphant tomorrow and bringing the boat down. Might need a couple hours of peace and quiet one day so wanted to go fishing for lakers, salmon etc. is it worth launching out of sauble or somewhere close or better to just drive somewhere in the area like Wiarton to launch. Any info is helpful, first time fishing up in this area of Lake Huron.

Cheers and tight lines

Lion's Head is a little farther up the penninsula than Wiarton, but you are deep very fast. Beautiful scenery with the bluffs there too. I can't speak for sauble

I had some decent Steelhead action downrigging in 80fow out of Sauble July 2021. Planning on going again to friend's cottage late August.

Can anyone tell me if Salmon will be staging in this area at that time?

not a popular trolling area so will be hard to get intel but if you caught steelhead then yes salmon should be around too starting now. GL
