This is my fishing bucket and tackle box insert. My main tackle box weighs 37 pounds because I have way to much stuff, like most of us. So when I go fishing, just what is needed for the day or night is taken. It's light and easy to carry around walking or in the boat. Inside I bring extra lures 2 per tube and other fishing stuff. Water, food and there is room for a rain suite or extra jacket. Only problem I had is always opening and closing the lid to change lures all the time. Most of my fishing is done at night so dropping things is no fun. Then this idea occurred to me, hang the lures up so they will be easy to grab and don't get tangled. Tried other ideas but this one works great, and saves time. Also the lures are dry when I put them away back in the tubes. Just thought to pass this on in case anyone else would like to try it.

I’ve used the three or four same lures for the last three or four years, despite lugging the kit around. Over the last 2 years I’ve narrowed down my ice fishing tackle to one tiny box with half dozen lures, and last last open water season I used one 7g Vibrato to catch every single fish (except for a few dozen walleye in July on leaches and slip float). Some days you get bored and want to have all the options. It’s really what you’re willing to carry and how far. From the car to the dock it would be easier to bring more, from lake to lake on portage, you make some hard choices haha.

How did you get your hands on the preforms? I work on the molds that make them.
Recycle scrap bin for P.E.T. I have found many uses for used plastic bottles or preforms. An 18 litre jug preform makes a great portable umbrella stand for camping. I have made bobbers out of small half blown preforms. But the bobbers always leaked. LOL. You can make a minnow trap out of a 1.5 litre bottle or bigger. 18 litre jugs make great mouse traps etc. etc. You can also start your plants from seeds by making a green house out of a plastic bottle. Ones persons garbage is anothers treasure.
