Beautiful day. Took the canoe out to see if I could find some crappie. No luck. Entire north end of the lake is roiled brown from the Burnt River flood inflow. Insane amount of debris washed down. Decided to try for pike. Caught four in about 1.5 hrs. Silver Mepps Syclops spoon. Biggest was about 7 3/4 lbs. didn’t see any one else out there. If you go, stay clear of the ramp at the Fenelon swing bridge. The current would make launch and retrieve fun! Take it slow - lots of floating debris from the recent high water.

Too bad about not finding any crappie. They should have been in the same area as the pike, two to six feet of water on Cameron Lake. Surprised you did not catch any at all, must have been the clouds, temperature and wind. Crappie and pike love stained water to hunt in. Caught this one in those exact conditions.

That launch is garbage on a good day. I think our tax dollars could do better.

Yes, I agree. It's a crappy launch. The lake doesn't have another public one that I'm aware of. The marina has one but I'm not sure what the charge is to use it.

They don’t allow the public anymore.
