Mixed day out there.

On the water and fishing by 9AM. Rougher and windier than forecast and we were bouncing around pretty good.

Wind and waves dropped around 10:30 and it was much more pleasant. Not marking much and no takers, despite frequent lure changes.

Around 12:30, a 4lb laker fell to a Luhr Jensen Shoehorn spoon, 100ft down in 110fow. See pic.

Shortly after 1PM, a down rigger cable snapped due to metal fatigue and we lost a 10lb ball and all the terminal tackle. Sh_t happens. My fault, I should check for fraying wire more frequently.

Recently, someone tipped me off about Kings on the Bay-Facebook. Put up some posts and heard from Greg Lubberdink who used to post on the Forum as Greg Lub. Fished with him on Simcoe and GB many years ago when he was a Toronto Fire fighter. He retired in 2020 and moved to Collingwood. He came out in his boat yesterday, found us and we ran side by side for a while and caught up on things.

That's the story.

to bad it was rough for you. even worse not a lot of action. At least you wern't skunked. I think we all have made that mistake before, not checking our equipment out before using it, things do get old and frail and I'm talking about the equipment.
