We headed out this morning for the lake forecast was for light north winds On the way there could see the wind turbines moving which should be. get to ramp flags are flapping. we head to our spot that I wanted to fish which was protected a bit from a north wind except for the last couple of miles. well instead of being calm the waves were about 2ft. we set up trolled east, nothing for a bit so turned north into waves we got buddy got one. another hour goes by nothing and now winds out of SW and climbing and so are the waves. I'm making my own worm harnesses this year so easy to change spinners. I finally found the right combination gold with a smaller silver spinner in front. I picked up 6 real quick while buddy got 4 using my homemade harnesses. So we at 11 and I decide we have had enough fun in these waves and now need to quarter into the 3ft and building waves for about 8 miles, took us an hour and got real wet.

Great bunch of walleye. So why is this the last time on Erie for the year?

Last time because this time of year I get really busy with canning and smoker and hunting soon. Can't depend on the weatherman to be correct, so can't waste a day because they are wrong. I have some other spots to fish that wind doesn't matter, have to work hard to get one or 2 keeper fish or no fish but at least I'm fishing.

Good luck with the canning, smoking, hunting and fishing.

sabmgb....I hear you about finding a calm day to be able to fish Erie. As someone who works 9-5, it gets frustrating as it seems to be windy almost every weekend
