I have fished the top part of Pigeon Lake for over 23 years, from Nogies Creek, over to Bobcaygeon, down past Elim Lodge towards Buckhorn. However, in order to find some other species that are more difficult, I'm hoping the lower end will help in this.

I'm not looking for spots. My issue is with the shallow waters, rocks, sand bars, etc. I've ruined my lower unit on the rocks at Bobcaygeon once and try to steer away from trouble.

I'm heading there this Friday and will launch from Elim. I'm not sure how far I will get and depends much on how navigable it is. Perhaps I'm overthinking things and being silly but any help or thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

Wally

Hi

There are spots in the lower lake ( South End).
There is a spot on the west side that has a name but I can't remember it, but it is the old road bed that used to cross the lake.
Also there must be a bit of deprh on the east side because all the house boats from Egan Houseboats come up that side.
Like you, I haven't fished it much either.

Good Luck

Very much appreciated Shore Troller. I was thinking of sticking East anyway.

There seems to be alot of muddy bottoms, which means possible Brown Bullhead which I haven't been able to find in the North. That said, Crappie have also been difficult and maybe around the rice beds a few can be found.

I have a buddy head South from Elim just last week and they found 9 species in total. Good luck me. I head out in 10 hours.
