Awesome pics!!! Looks like it will take a bit to have soft water for the opener!!! Just looked at the long range forecast and its getting warmer week by week!!!

Snapped this tonight down at the North Bay Waterfront....seems like the ice is finally receding....we have had a couple of very warm days and are going to get major rainfall over the next few days (weather channel says 50+ mm )

I was out looking today. The lake seems a bit shallow at the area beaches, but the ice looks like it's melting good. The various larger creek mouths are all free of ice and flowing well after the rain we had, so an early May ice off is likely.

Pictures are useless now because it changes daily. We are supposed to be getting very warm weather over the next few weeks, so get those lines ready, and get your boat into the marina early for service and avoid the line ups in May. I blew a bearing carrier over the winter, so I am glad I got that looked at sooner than later.

Ice is half off the lake....the shores are all free and the ice seems to be receding fast. I snapped this picture of the chief commanda boat cruise bulletin board today at the Government Dock at the waterfront in North Bay.....so if you are doubting may ice off....it seems they don't share that thought....lol.

No worries for ice of by walleye opener ..... it's pretty safe to make plans to come up and enjoy this awesome lake

Not sure about Calender bay area. Ice gone in the West Arm area bays are open.

i will be up in calander bay area again as well during opener.
always real busy but still nice to be out.
Talked to a buddy from North Bay and he had heard a couple people got caught for Poaching in the callander bay area. Which is good they got caught if true but sad that people like that are doing it.
