I was almost at home when I heard a traffic report on 680AM that there was a traffic jam forming on the 400 southbound late this afternoon. Apparently there was a boat in the left lane. They didn't specify the size (cartop size or trailer required) or if there was an attached motor. No one was around and the MTO was on the way to remove it. I've heard of a lot of stuff falling onto the roadway and causing mayhem with traffic, but never a boat!! Someone is in for a rude surprise when they get home!!

I lost a pair of shoes I left on the roof of my car once. Got on the road and the wind took them right off. Never lost a boat though. Lucky there was no accident caused by that incident.

True....that boat could have come down on either side of the divider. At least the people behind the boat would have seen it hit the highway and had enough time to stop. People coming the other way would have been screwed. There was no mention in the little blurb that I heard how bit it was or whether it came off a trailer or dropped off the back of a pickup truck. Imagine getting home....honey, where's the boat?
