Wanted to pick everyones brains, I’ve now caught Pike in balsam, Cameron, and sturgeon, has anyone saw them in pigeon or lower? Was mortified this weekend fishing for muskie, with four pike to show for it, made my knees weak and I felt like my heart was sinking.

Canal & Mitchel - Yes Balsam - Yes Cameron - Yes
I did not know they were in Sturgeon (I thought that lake was safe for now)
Scugog - No
Pigeon, Chemong & Buckhorn (tri-lakes) - No
Rice Lake (unforunately) - Yes Trent River east of Rice - Yes Otonabee River - Yes
So basically central Kawartha Lakes, still holding on, but Pike are now on the east and west side, and IMO, it's only a matter of time before they get into the rest of the lakes. They are very prolific and easily travel through locks...

I can already see how it’s affected the musky population, the rearing areas, where i commonly Catch young of the year muskies have been taken over by pike, the kawarthas are going to change drastically over the next ten years

I must be very lucky or unlucky depending on how you look at it then, LOL. Thanks for replying Attila, Since I understand you fish this lake a lot. One was in Goosebay, which in my opinion is a rearing area, and one was in close proximity to the lock in Fenelon

Saw one come out of Cameron on the weekend. Probably about 8lbs, so not a young fish. It was caught by a guy fishing muskies. He put it on a rope until he could find someone to take it home. It really is too bad.

Canal, Mitchel and Balsam are pretty much taken over by pike but it sad news indeed that it's getting in Sturgeon. I did not catch any pike in Sturgeon but I do not fish it often. Knowing that the pike is in Balsam/Cameron and Crowe/Belmont makes it just a matter of time before it invades mid kawartha lakes. I do my fair share of keeping Kawartha pike everytime I fish there and if someone is interested in knowing a good pike cooking recipy I can share an excellent pike burgers/patties recipy where you grind the pike filet in the meat grinder (no need to poke out Y-bones) mix it up with white bread and eggs and fry them with adding a bit of butter. With fries and beer it's so yummy!
