For all the bass fishing I've done i'm ashamed about the quality of bass I've caught. Started fishing in 2014 and although I have caught hundreds of bass I only have caught one over 4lbs (a 5lbs Smallmouth).

So this past Saturday I went to my buddys cottage on one of the smallest lake in the Kawarthas. We usually go there for numbers and anything over a 3lbs bass is a quality fish. Anyways, the day starts off and we get the usual. Good numbers for smallies bu all under 1.5lbs. It's now Noon and we decide lets hit a tiny lilly pad edge before we go in for lunch. My buddy throws a frog and what ever frog fishermen lives for occurred. As soon as it touched the water a 3lbs absolutely enhaled it. Beautiful. quick pics and its time for lunch.

We head back out around 4. After about 20 minutes I throw a senko and feel a tiny bit of tension on the line. Set the hook... and Wham! ....oh wait, thats a log.... no it' not! This thing is moving! The bass does a heart sinking jump followed by directly going under the boat and im forced to wait it ou while stressing the entire time. All i see is a giant thrashing wide open mouth emerge from under the bow and do my best keep her hooked up. My buddy gets her in to the net and what a rush, my first 5lbs Largemouth!!

After a great mood was set in the boat, we continue on for not even 10 minutes. I found a brand new boulder piling with milfoil mixed in. With a brand new senko, throw it in there, and wham! Almost the exact same scenario. Only this time i completely loose concentration on the fish. The boat is heading straight into the boulder piling i casted in to. I got on the trolling motor and my trusty net man lands the fish with me having no idea whats going on. After i set us back on course, take a look in the net, and boom a 4lbs Largemouth!

Needless to say that was the best day of bass fishing I have personally had, and am so happy to have finally landed a 4 and 5lbs Largie. Hopefully everyone can get some great fall fishing in before the year ends

Awesome story.
Well.done. felt like I was right there with u guys.

Nothing gets your heart pumping like a 5 pounder jumping in the air. Its happened at my first 5 pounder right up until the last one. Never gets old.

However what is getting old is the fact that I haven't caught a 5 pounder yet this year. Less than 2 months left to fix that. You might just have to take me out and show me how it's done.
