Well with our launches officially opening as of this morning, I took my son out to one of our favourite lakes for spring pike. Not a big fish lake, but usually plenty of fish in the 28-34” size. Water was still quite cold ( no surprise there with the lovely weather we’ve had), but we still managed 1/2 dozen fish, and a bunch of oos bass as well. Ramp was pretty quiet, although most of them around here are usually pretty good anyway. No monsters caught today, but man was it ever nice to be out again casting for gators. By the looks of the water temps, we’ll still be getting shallow pike here for a few weeks easily, which is just fine by me.
