I bought a jiffy last year I love it!
No fumes!
No mixing gas
Starts first pull
Left it out side with its tank on in -30
Started in 3 pulls
Went on multiple week long trips Nipissing timogami
Run and gunning punching lots of holes
I think I used 3 tanks all year
Cant beat them

That's old technology, I'm using some shaped charge tannerite cans, they make a BIG hole.

All kidding aside, I have both the Jiffy gas and propane augers. The gas auger stays at home, the propane is my choice now. Lots of power, quieter, no fumes and no mixing or carrying gas. The gas is still an excellent choice but I like the propane a little more. My opinion only as you asked for.

either will I.

I have a gas jiffy, which hasn't left me stranded. Might have bought propane but they were just starting out then or I hadn't heard of them. I like my electric drill the best, but when you want a bigger hole I go gas.

I use the clam auger conversion plate with a Milwaukee drill and a 8" manual auger. I can drill over 100 holes with one 5.0ah battery. Never have to worry about it not starting or having enough gas. Also, makes no noise, very light, 1/3 of the price of a powered auger, and makes holes faster than gas. I haven't looked back once!

Over 100 holes?

How big of an auger bit is it pushing and how much ice are you drilling through? I don't believe the 100 hole on one battery.

Best I could do with an 8" Ion last winter was 26 holes on 32" of ice from full charge.
