Any of you folks ever done the Tommy Cod fishing on the St. Lawrence in Qc? Looks interesting. Not in an adventurous fishing trip but in a sociable type of experience.

I have when I was much younger, north shore of the St Lawrence at a place called St Anne de la Perade. Catch your tommy cod with pork liver cubes suspended on a line with a match stick as bite indicator. When the tide comes in, it's fast and furious. Had a pretty good time. Take a look here:Tommy Cod

Here's another in engrish: More Tommy Cod

Couldn't have said it better myself! I would love to try this ice fishing bar... gotta be good for a few laughs

As far as the food on the ice goes...
There used to be a lady and her son that would sell pizza on the perch grounds in Beaverton... they would always hit the funny smelling huts first... and always sold out quickly

With how popular ice fishing has become especially on Simcoe, I think you can make some cash If you have low overhead... depends how far you want to take it

If you're interested in giving it a shot go for it! If you ever come to my hut I'll support you regardless.

Hope you try it! IMHO it would be a great little side venture to make a few extra bucks on the side and likely have a blast doing it. Best of luck to you.

I think this a great idea, personally I would do the research on licencing and the surrounding areas for on ice population. you can buy a cart or off season, design/custom make your own that will suit the different types of ice condition. This could be a very fun project.

I just got into ice fishing last year and when I saw the amount of people on the ice, the same though entered my head, but living 2 hours away, its not for me. Good luck, and I would say, GO FOR IT!!!

I've found myself out there many times saying I wish there was a food truck on the ice lol.

There's definitely a market for it. I say go for it. Lots of free advertising on this website just in a thread like this then word of mouth and you will be good to go. I would recommend besides hot dogs also having warm items like hot chocolate and chili. Just my advice though. Good luck
