Hi folks. I want to head to a few back lakes around the North Bay area but I am concerned about the condition of the lakes.

Anyone have an update on how much slush there is and if they are easy to travel on?

Today, Callander Bay had a number of trucks on it pulling of their huts but we had a cold night and a few more cold ones tonight and tomorrow.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

I headed out to a small back lake for Lakers yesterday and there was almost no snow or slush on the lake. The ice as about 3 feet thick.

Looks like we have a good few weeks of hard ice fishing left.

Now for Lake Nipissing, the police are asking everyone to stay off the ice due to slush conditions. Recently there have been 2 sledders who had to be rescued miles out on the lake and a few vehicles which became stuck in deep slush and have to be towed.

Be careful out there and tight lines folks.
