You really want to know i did a video !!

I was on New lake that was stocked heavy with splake back in 2011 so i was thinking if anything was left they got to be big fish. The first day my line went down and i never seen line peel off a spool so fast like that before i grabbed the line and the steel hook was bent when i brought it up i was thinking big splake .
So i go back the next day had my 2 lines out and took my my marcum camera my one line was not visible with camera but about 10 feet from me.
Around 10 am my line that was not on camera goes down and the line was peeling off the spool again bent hook again.
I get home and review my camera video and i see what looks like a ***** or ****** not sure maybe you can tell if you start to watch the video it is around 3 mins 30 secs in on video im sure this is what was taking my bait with the speed and power.
If i was to land it it would of been just crazy bringing it through a 8 inch hole !!!

Do you think the otter would bend the hook like this and there was no flesh on the hook it did this 3 times to 3 hooks !! And 3 different spots on the lake !!!

Find it hard to believe it would happen three times at three different spots on the lake. But I do believe itís an otter in the video there just might be some monster splake in there. As for no flesh on the hooks otter have some of the thickest hides out there so once the hook bends it pull free clean.

I'm going back in a couple weeks with canoe if ice comes off and try with some bigger tackle.

Hey Sparky ; Watch yourself ' back two years ago while fishing the notty I somehow snagged a beaver by his tail , not good , pulled like a train and spooled me then the line broke , I ASSUME SOMEWHERE HE GOT RID OF THE HOOK AND LINE ..MESSAGE , OTTERS HAVE "VERY" SHARP TEETH YOU REALLY DON'T WANT LAND ONE ..

Prob need a surface bait if you are targeting otters! And a good steel leader.
