As I mentioned, all of the fish swam away. They weren't in the livewell for more than ten minutes. It took a few attempts to get them all in one picture as they were flopping around
Like I said I was not there to see the condition of the fish. If I was there, I would have showed you you the proper way to catch a fish and take a picture of the fish and then release the fish as soon as possible. Like I said in my first post. If the MNR or OPP were to board your boat and see 7 under size walleye in your live well you would have got a bunch of fines. Do you really think they would have believed that you were going to let them go. They don't anticipate what people are going to do they just write fines and take fishing licences away. Why did't you just take a picture of each fish as you caught it, then release it and catch another.

I guess I am just the bad guy but this post upset me.
Those fish are not legal and are supposed to be release immediately not tossed in a live well to be stressed. Many fish die after being stressed. I can’t believe anyone would purposely break the law and advertise it on line. Get some better ethics and treat the fish properly by releasing immediately fish that are not legal to keep.
Disco I believe you are the good guy and hopefully this will not happen again. You set the record straight by telling it how it is....I support that.

Thanks Arnie.
I didn’t want to come off horrible. This was just such a blatant disregard for the rules and regulations I just could help but speak out. This is OP’s attitude is the very same attitude that harms our fisheries and fishing community. “Rules don’t apply to me”, and take from the resource and enjoy it but at the same time abuse it so it’s ruined for future generations. I wish this was somehow found by the MNR and investigated.

Some of you sound like a bunch of grumpy old men yelling at the clouds. We get it, you've got a spotless record when it comes to adhering to the fishing regulations and are always ready to give your 2 cents and lambaste some poor guy who got excited and wanted to show off his catch.
Instead of the holier then though attitude, why not give some constructive criticism?
'Hey bud, nice walleyes but you can't retain these fish if they're in the slot. Next time just take a pic as you catch them and make a photo collage'
It's highly entertaining though and good for a laugh, I gotta admit that.

Are you being serious BillM. I did that exact thing on my first post on this thread. I was trying to be as nice as I could when I wrote what I said. Also I did say that exact thing about taking a picture of each fish on another post. By the way, I have never broken the regulations, and I did not write what I said to entertain you, or make you laugh. I take every aspect of fishing seriously. 1st.... the safety of each and every person that fishes. 2nd.... the health of the fish and the enviroment, and the list goes on. Like I said before, I tried to give some advice the best way I could. Maybe when you read what people post you should actually read it word for word. I don't recall writing anything funny.

You gave fine advice, I don't think I said otherwise? If I was going to call you out specifically I would have

Thank you, I appreciate the feed back. I take pride in being a member of this fishing forum, and the fishing community. Some of my friends say I have too much enthusiasm, and it's only a fish. I freak out when I see someone throw a cigarette butt in the lake, and they say it's only a butt. Maybe my expectations are to high to expect all people to treat nature with care, love and respect.

I don't think people obeying the regs would be setting your expectations too high. It's the law and it needs to be followed. My point was, we've all got excited at one time or another. Too me that's exactly what happened here. The fish are back in the water at the end of the day and hopefully the OP has learned a value lesson. The cigarette butt thing is also is a major pet peeve of mine. People can be disgusting.. You should see the amount of garbage I pick up during steelheading season. It's ridiculous.

I agree with Disco and crappeeeman.
Too often I see anglers who just want to "enjoy" fishing without any regard for the regulations, or even worse the health of the fish/causing it unnecessary pain. It is a living being.
To me, intentionally hurting a fish is the very last way to enjoy fishing and would ruin the entire experience for me. I can't even fish with people who have no respect for the fish.
We should treat all game species with the utmost respect and dignity. A true sportsman knows the regs and follows them to a T.
Mistakes happen - but blatant disregard for both regulations and the fish themselves is sad to see.
Live and learn. Move on.
Just my 2 cents.
OH and the cigarette butt thing in the lake drives me BONKERS. LIKE REALLY?!?!?!
