So, I see the forecast suddenly change from bad to very good and prep the boat for early morning. Called a few buds, but everyone was busy so I had to do my first solo trip out on Erie

Not so bad at all as it was just a very relaxing outing except for the fishing which was hot. By 8.30 am I am down to running just one rod and releasing fish with 5 in the cooler

tried a new location and presentation and it paid off. there was a flotilla of boats about 3 miles from me but I decide to keep away and had a great spot all to myself except for 1 other guy

got a mix as day went on including sheephead when I dropped my speed to 1.5 or so. silver bass also...let the big girls go and just kept the nice eater size

Only thing that went wrong yesterday was my kicker motor would not fire up so had to troll with my main. got home and went over the kicker and then it fired on 3rd pull.wth

Anyway, was a beauty day/overcast and a nice chop...lots of boats heading back in by 10 am and I quit at 11 am

It was a treat to fish solo and just have nothing but fun...At the ramp a guy came over and helped me get my boat onto the trailer and we had a great chat. for whatever reason, he did not do well and had only 1 fish....I gave him 2 of mine and we wil be going out together on his rig soon enough 20 foot fully outfitted Lund I am pretty sure he was going to fast

I managed to get a few pics but had a hard time doing all of this. most likely because I was just into fishing

Well done, definitely a little more work solo. We’re lucky to have this fishery so close, like Steve said, “a walleye fishermans dream”.We were out last evening and had a good bite as well, nothing big, all cookie cutters

Sounds like a couple hours of great fishing

and a great conversation to boot

@oogie, noting wrong with that at all. I get it that the tanks hit and fight harder, but for eats, I prefer those 19 to 21 inchers

next time I am going to try and jig for them
