I know it's been a long time posting here so I figured I would do a summary of our softwater fishing adventures this year. Overall it's been an average year with fish caught every outing but no really huge fish that beat our PB numbers except Glenn did catch a 15" perch.

Just like 2017, we have been dealing with flooding in the river and our trailer site has basically been under water since pike opener until early August. It has been frustrating but thankfully when we moved sites last year, we had the foresight to put down a gravel pad which raised our trailer higher in case of flooding again. The water was higher than 2017 but it was still a few inches away from even touching our axle so the trailer was safe. At it's highest level you could not walk to the deck unless you had hip waders as the water would have gone over regular rubber boots. Once again, our deck turned into a dock with water over half way up the sides but we pinned it in place so if it did float, it wouldn't go very far.

Spring was a bounty of large perch (and the occasional pike) which kept us occupied and fishing at the bridge also provided some fun when the winds were too high to get on the boat. Once the water finally warmed up, the bass started to hit. One thing that has been strange is that I haven't been able to catch a single fish on a spinnerbait (safety pin or inline). I just think the fish have become lazy this year as all species are being caught on the dropshot.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

July 25th. Bluegill with a nice chunk out of its back. Didn't seem to bother him at all.
