For Simcoe / Couchiching.. 9 to 12 inch perch. No question.

Best tasting and eating fish.

Don't be ridiculous! His wife will know he didn't catch those in a heartbeat. Buy the pc frozen walleye or perch fillets and say you cleaned them on the ice so you wouldn't stink up the kitchen. You get points for bringing home dinner and for being considerate!!!

Elrik you are a genius. She is always bugging me to bring home fish and I don't because I don't want to clean them at 10 pm after a 3 hour drive. Awesome

Pike! Under 5lbs. I love a good eye and perch is nice and all, but nothing meatier than a good deep fried pike filet.

And Simcoe bowfin anyone?:-)

(note: "bowfin" as it pronounces, sounds similar to Chinese phrase: I am full after a big meal of $hit/feces)

My dad and I tried the buying fish at the docks on Lake Erie once, fresh of the boat, as we hadn't caught any perch. Mother knew right away we didn't catch them. As we never caught that nice of perch.

I personal swing between 10" perch and 18" pickerel. Not sure which one I prefer. Both so good. I don't like perch much above the 10" mark. I keep them from 8 to 11". Pickerel from 15 to 20" above or below swim another day.
