We are lucky here to have so many good options. I am mixing up fish I keep once in a while - variety is good and you don't get bored of eating the same fish.

My list looks more or less like that:

Crappie
Perch
Walleye
Whitefish (if I can catch one )
Pike

i love perch and pike,for years asa snack ill cube some pike fillets{1 inch}and simmer in a pot of sprite pop for 5 minutes,drain,sprinkle with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon...serve with garlic butter....try it,its incredible!tastes like lobster

Whatever I catch myself. Better than store bought. Id say perch, pike and lakers are my favourite. Ling is right up there too!

Smoked Pike.....like to cube them too and ritz cracker crumb them and deep fry. Here are the smoked ones...breakfast for wife and I.
