Can't personally comment on those areas as I live in the city. But from what I've read, many believe cooks will be hit or miss this weekend and I imagine Kempenfelt would be even more risky based on reports.

I personally enjoy fishing more when I minimize my risk. I'll be heading to Cooch or St John (7-9" when I was there last weekend) until the laker grounds are frozen.

Can always drive up to cooks/kemp and if a no go, keep heading north.

Good luck
FF17

Saw lots walking out, one sled track, not sure if they made it back though, might not have actually took the sled on the ice, could have just been using it to haul gear back up the hill since it's a pretty big one where I was. Very little to no snow so I'm not sure why you'd take a sled anyway, I plan to wear my floater suit and have my picks handy just in case, might use my skates to get out.
