Had a phone call this evening from my friend (least I think he is a friend) Steelheader , to discuss various aspects of the M & G.

He informs me I'M IN CHARGE OF THE WEATHER. Thanks Dave!

I've looked at the long range forecast, which is useless this far ahead. When I look at the historical weather for the date, the average daytime temp is -1C and the there is a 13% chance of precipitation. That doesn't look too bad. I hope!

I'm not a religious person, so my praying for good weather is not going to help.

So, I need help from any of you who have a connection to the WEATHER GODS!

Seriously, if you haven't signed up to come to the M & G, based on past M & G's, you are going to miss out on a real good time. Over the years, we have faired pretty well with the weather. Some years better than others, but no really lousy days. Maybe the fog at Jacksons Point.

I still think the best M & G we had was the very first at Windermere on Lake Rosseau. Everyone fishing in the bay there and a great chance to walk around and meet people, BBQ"s on the ice and oh yes we caught some fish. Good time, good food and good company!

quite the task you have there Ralph..

I agree...Windermere was great, but the distance is prohibitive

Jp, ya, could barely see, but food was awesome

we seem to persevere no matter what, nor where

Everytime we're out there plowing snow or salting,, I consistantly ask for better weather
" Please Make it Stop Soon,, I just wanna go Fishing !! "

When Im out fishing,,, Im find myself even more religious and Im known to over do the : "Please God,,, just let me catch one fish " requests.

Seeing as praying to the fish gods worked for us yesterday (I'll post about that in a new thread shortly)

I'll try my luck & ask once again for good weather for this years M&G.
If this doesnt work,, then I will have to work that day unfortunately (my fingers are crossed).

With the freezing rain that we're getting today,,, Im might have to add a Hail Mary to todays prayers.

Looks like I got my work cut out for me this morning !

Thanks Dave

However, as you know, the weather is a real crap shoot.

My wife, the fiddler, is complaining about how the weather has already kept us away from a number of fiddle jam/square dances this Winter

The next dance we plan to go to is this Saturday afternoon at the Legion in Fenelon Falls. Right now, the weather forecast looks good. It is a 80 minute drive for us each way.

Maybe because the weather has impacted on our dancing, we shall get a great day for the M & G.

Fingers crossed and thinking positively!!

No Harold not me, but sounds like a good idea.

We were supposed to go to Port Perry at the end of January for a fiddle jam/dance and didn't go because of the weather forecast. Based on what actually happened with the weather, we could have gone.

It was ? Could've fooled me.

The only way we knew where we were was because of the GPS.

If we hadn't had it, we would probably have still been wandering around out there!

People also ask

Is there a god of weather?
Answer and Explanation: Zeus is the god of weather in Greek mythology. ... Zeus controls the weather as he is the god of rain, thunder, lightning, clouds and wind. There are minor gods attributed to some aspect of weather, such as Zephyrus, who is the god of the westerly wind, but Zeus is the primary god of weather.

OK, I don't think I have an "in" with Zeus!

Who out there does? You can help.

I look forward to your input.

Zeus
Zeus overthew his Father Cronus. He then drew lots with his brothers Poseidon and Hades. Zeus won the draw and became the supreme ruler of the gods. He is lord of the sky, the rain god. His weapon is a thunderbolt which he hurls at those who displease him. He is married to Hera but, is famous for his many affairs. He is also known to punish those that lie or break oaths.

I think I figured out how get us the weather we want on Feb. 23

AS you can see, ZEUS was not only the WEATHER GOD, BUT ALSO THE KING OF THE GODS IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY.

His qualities and methods are noted above.

I think, what we need is a Forum Member of Greek heritage who has the same qualities and methods to put in the right words for some good weather.

Who will step up???

There maybe more than one of you.

Please step forward. Don't be shy.

When we get some members of Greek heritage to step forward, I think we shall need to determine who is the most powerful of them.

I figure a good way to do that, is base it on the number of affairs!

When we get to that stage, remember not to lie or you will have to punish yourself!

I've had no replies from members of Greek heritage? Do we not have any?
Are you concerned about potentially needing to tell us how many affairs you have had?

OK, let's forget about affairs and if you are of Greek heritage, can you try and communicate with Zeus to give us good weather on the 23rd.

Help me out on this.-Please.

Ralph

That sounds about right. It was an adventure.

I'm not Greek but I dig the mythology.
You look for Zeus, I'm always on the lookout for an Electra.
