People don't seem to learn. This has been a crazy year for weather and ice conditions. With all of the notices about pressure cracks on the ice, why take the chance. It's a little more work to walk out, but at least use a smaller motorized vehicle like a sled or an atv if you need to drive. I noticed that one of the forum's sponsors rents snow dogs. It will likely be cheaper than losing your vehicle.

Yeah... guess the simple rule would be, don’t drive out on the ice.

I’ll admit I used to take the civic out on north Cook’s with my snows, but there were 50 other cars and trucks in the area already.

Being a trailblazer in a full sized vehicle on Simcoe? No thanks!

Glad the driver was okay, but how long until they just ban it. Which would suck I might add, because that one area that everyone parks on the ice is super handy!

You summed that up well.

it was at Virginia beach, was it someone fishing or the First Nations trying to get home to their island?. you can tell they tried to cross the crack which after this week has been weakened greatly.
