Well, I finally made a trip to simcoe to see if I could bag a nice Feed for the family. Walked out just shy of 2km early morning before sunrise to get away from the crowds that I knew were eventually going to show up. Got set up with no one around me for at least a few miles. Marked fish right away but they were not really active. It was still early so I stuck around to see if they would start feeding when the sun was actually up and out. Once the sun came out they finally started to be more active. Caught a couple of keepers and marked a ton of fish on the sonar. But that didn’t last long. A group of 7 guys on two machines with a full trailer pulled up, did a circle around me and literally set up 30’ from me. I can feel their machines vibrate through the ice and up my seat. My sonar went blank right away and the fish never came back.

I got tired of staring at a blank screen so I decided to move around to see if I can re-locate an active school of fish. 25 holes and 2 hours later I finally found a decent school and size of fish I was after. Fished for another 1.5 hours and landed a decent stringer for the table before I had to leave. A few 13” perch and a bunch of 10s and 12”. Slab grabber did the damaged. The big girls inhaled them past the snap swivel.

Thanks. I fish for enjoyment and relaxation. No need for altercation out on the lake. They ended up staying there for the entire time, but it didn't seem like they were catching much as they were drilling holes every 5 ft moving around themselves every 10 mins with no hook sets in sight. every time one of them moved 5-10 ft, they used the ATV and snowmobile to do it. LMFAO. And they wonder why there are no fish around, especially in shallow water.

lol
Did they really get on the machines to move 10 feet?
That is hilarious.

Nice catches by the way.

We did the exact same thing as you thanh. Setup just as the sun came up off the beaten path and low and behold 45 minutes later some clowns honed right in on sleds and bite the literally turned off. We had six good keepers on the ice in the first 20 mins til they showed up. Zero respect these days.

Yes they did. It entertained me quite a bit. They used their machines and trailer to sit on and fish off of. It was a googan show. LOL.

I hear ya. I don't really mind that they setup that close to me. This is Lake Simcoe and it is going to happen more than not. It's the constant zipping around and noise/vibrations from machines that spook the fish away is what I dislike.

Isn't nice to when you are fishing and people in the furthest hut out decides to let the kid take the machine out for a spin as he is bored. Sets a nice oval up going though all the people fishing. I just happened to be 100yds from the hut so I was in the middle of the oval at one end. 20yds either side of me, for 30min. Another guy yelled at him, didn't do any good.

Really nice fish.
