Was a glorious morning with no wind. Out the door by 6am on the bike and at gas station by 6:15. Pumps unavailable..ok go to the next one. Pumps unavailable. Dammit!! I got 2 people waiting for me to get out onto the lake. Wait 45 minutes until station opens up and finally get to the lake. Set up and within minutes fish on. Fish off. Again, and again. What the hell?? Same pattern, get it half way and it comes unbuttoned. I hear a cry for help from the better half and by the time I sprint there fish is off and I wipe out hard. Right knee is in a heap of trouble but I shake it off. Keep at it and finally get a fish to pop its head out and before I could react vibrato pops out and down the hole it goes but not before I dive for it, mess my knee up even more, get wet elbow deep, smash and cut the back of my hand and all my buddy saw was a whitey shooting out of the hole 6ft in the air and me wincing in pain on the ice. 1/8 for me and many bites missed. Stupid knee swelled up something fierce today. Icing and looking for a knee brace right now to see if I can get out for a couple hours.

Oof, glad you got that one, hope your knee heals up quick.

Quick question, when people say 1/8 do you mean you hooked 8 fish or you marked 8 fish?

I tried and rode the bike to my permy instead. No giants but steady action all day 😀

Epic day man, glad to see there are other people that will do whatever it takes in the moment to land a fish! Keep it up! Go hard or go home.

Lol. I guess you paid the price to catch a whitiey. Hope the knee gets better. Lucky you had the bike, that you didnít have to walk all the way back.
