The derby started off with arrivals about 6 am , three teams

Team SDC
Team Grampa
Team Steelheader

Off we went ,Fished through the am , lots of fish marking all through the water column from 20-70 down ,
,
Turned out to a mix of salmon, lakers and bows, action in the am was steady , all ours on spoons ,various colors and designs at 2-2.5 mph long leads ..

A few hairy moments when hooked fish crossed other line and caused a chinese fire drill , but we were lucky and got them all sorted out ..

Kept in touch with other teams till close to 2 pm when we had to rescue a vessel in distress , alls good ..

Was a great day , weather was awesome , got even a deeper tan and ended up with a very respectable cooler of fish ..

Team SDC had left before we got back but the results of the day were ...

Team SDC ... 1 bow
1 laker
2 salmon

Team Grampa ..

1 laker
1 bow
2 salmon

Team Steelhead

2 lakers
5 salmon

Prize time came .. Team Grampa won 1st with a 14 lb salmon followed by team Steelheader with close second of 13 lb salmon..

Over all standings .. team Grampa ..largest fish
Team Steelheader .. Heaviest combined

All in all great day , perhaps next year LSO can turn this into a derby that will give all members a shot at GB salmon..

Guess who got to filet all 11 fish back in port ..

Great day

Dave

Hey Dinky; Better get that boat fixed fast ,Those salmon are killing time in the nottawasaga bay waiting for the right water temps and other conditions and then away they go.. From where they are they can be up the rivers in a matter of hours ..

We had a little run here in the Nott a month ago but our graph confirms that the big run is still to come..

Go get em..

Right now, 4 trays of Chinook and Rainbow fillets in the Bradley at 120 degrees getting a mixture of Alder and Apple smoke.

Should be done around 5:30

Hi Dan

My recipe for the Indian Candy is in the Resources section under recipes.

JUst follow the guidelines there and you should be good.

When I checked to ensure the recipe was still there, I noticed you were looking at it as you were shown as reading it.

Good luck.

PM me if you need more help.

Ralph.
