Hey guys

need some help understanding this. was fishing the other day and the water must have flipped. what I think I am seeing is bait fish on bottom and Pred fish on the surface. surface temp doesn't make sense though.

anyway to tell what fish these are.

we saw this through most of the waters we fished, as you can see from the depth changes.

thanks for the help

in the second pic, it does look like there is a predator sitting on the bottom on the left side as well looking up at the bait ball. definitely looks like one heck of a bait ball though. judging by the 40 foot mark some of those lines are at could be either bigger prey items or possibly suspended walleye. im not an expert on reading graphs though. cool images for sure

I have a Humminbird Helix 5 as well.

It looks like bait at the bottom and that is not uncommon.

As for the fish marks higher up, I get those also, but I run the sonar at maximum sensitivity so you can get false readings like that.

What is your sensitivity at? If I reduce mine they go away.

I usually run mine at 2x zoom as well.

Is it possible it's not a fish and just something on the bottom..

Hey guys,

thanks for the responses. that's on Gbay.

I posted on both because Simcoe is a much more active message board.

my sensitivity is set to about 75%.
