Wow---I have been away for a few days and came back to see this fish porn!! Well done, Andrew. I guess you proved your point re the trout still being fairly shallow this late in the spring---at least for Algon specks. Maybe not so much for lakers?

No worries about me following your trail!! That seemed like quite the slog, but a rewarding slog. Oh, to be young again and have that energy.

I guess you must live fairly close to Algon to make a day trip like that.

Yeah, I'm just south of Huntsville, so not too bad.

QUOTE (Drew @ Jun 21, 2018 - 05:30 pm)
If you can switch the name of September to May, you will do well. Other than that, just be prepared to switch tactics till you find them. Troll, jig, deeper, shallower etc. One thing I'm doing now is I'll take BOTH minnows and worms, as brookies seem to sometimes be picky enough to prefer one over the other. I made a deal with myself years ago to never go speck fishing without worms again. Never. Finding a good lake I'd say is the most important thing.

Thanks the help drew. I managed 4 brookies last year in sept. they were hitting little pink woms. i was also fishing a river that connected a couple big lakes
