I'd say an amazing day by anyone's standards.
A nice whitefish and three ice rods/reels.... Wow!
(P.S. - I couldn't find the catch daily limit on rods/reels in the Regulations. I hope the photo doesn't cause you trouble!)
All kidding aside, great to your effort and success.
Thanks for the report/photo.
I fish with 6 rods rigged up at all times. Only one used at a time(two if Lake allows two through ice), but having your different presentations rigged and ready to rock is really important if the fish hanging around doesn’t want your first offering. Often I’ll bring them in with a spoon or vibrato then seal the deal with the simcoe bug.

And am I crazy, I mean two days ago (the past Sunday) and today alone, two trips up north fishing that lake, putting another 750KM on the car:-)
I feel bad for my friend who drives from Toronto to fish with me up here and goes home with no fish and extra 600km on the car… at least you got the fish. Like how they are hitting the vibrato…. Chase or tapping bottom?

For whitefish and with vibrato, I usually leave vibrato a couple of feet off bottom, wait until fish shows up at bottom, then immediately lower vibrato to bottom, and gently tap the bottom, tap, tap.... until fish commit:-)

Nice, that’s how I do it in spring, doesn’t work as well for me in winter, not on my lake anyway.
