Had to scratch the itch one last time before calling it for the season. Late start to the day and I wound up spending more time driving then fishing. But, all very gratifying when you have the whole lake to yourself and catching fish is a bonus.
Shoreline was still holding strong and plenty of ice. Most of it was white ice. First drop to the bottom and I get a hit and can see it running with with my bait. A swing and a miss, drop it back down and fish on! Landed a couple of pan size and then lost a nice one at hole as my hook got pinned to the bottom of the ice. Great afternoon fishing and came home with 4. Now I feel much better about calling it the end of ice season.
