Love that our MNR does create some fun easy to access opportunities. Many ponds close to the GTA get stocked with specs for a put and take fishery.
They are tasty, not as tasty as wild specs but still very good.

Limits with my Dad today in a little over and hour. Great fun when it’s hard for my life time fishing partner and teacher to get up and down a river.

Oh wow how I wish I could have another day fishing with my dad. He is fishing bows in the sky.....you brought a small tear to my eye Disco, enjoy every moment....thank you for that. So many fond memories of my fishing mentor....my dad. The last time I took my dad fishing was in Waubaushene and I beached the tinny and literally rolled him over the gunwale into the boat. My family cursed me for taking him on the two hour drive and fishing but the smile on my fathers face I will never forget. We stayed over night and I guess I tired him out because he declined the morning outing.

That’s a fun outing with great results. We should all fish with family while we have the chance. Great post

I am glad the memories came back with my simple post.
I am sure one day I will be in the same boat.
My Dad often talks about his last year on the river is coming soon. I know it’s coming and can’t stand the thought so a few years ago I fully went on in for down rigging with the thought I could “roll” him into the boat. Your post made me think of this again. 😂
When ever the think how sad I will be when he can’t come anymore, I then think about how luck I am to have had him for a Dad. The thought is only terrifying because the memories are so great.

Cherish those good memories, esp those of fishing with him. Not all of us have such good memories.
My SIL died fairly suddenly last summer. My bro's trove of great memories thru their long marriage is what keeps him afloat. They did everything together incl their annual salmon week

great fish and great memories. Like so many have already posted does bring back fond memories. My dad a few years before he past had a stroke about a week before our annual deer hunt up where he lived. My sister called and told me that I couldn't take him in the bush. i made her really mad when I told her that if he dies in the bush I will tie his arms over his head and drag him out like we did to so many deer. We hunted for several more years and fished.
