Does anybody know if there ate any campsites on the islands on red squirrel lake neat temagami?
I know there is a pit where everybody camps on shore...but I like to do the solo thing plus I have dogs and they can't run away on an island.

there are camping maps for Temag. You might find one online. If not you could buy one.

That map is exactly what I wanted to give me a general idea where the campsites are...thank you!!
Where is the pit/boat launch on that map?is it where red squirrel road first meets the lake or further up the road by the falls?
I'm going to assume it's the first one.but not positive

I also bought this map for temagami...seems to be a great reference map of the lake and rivers close by

Some of your questions can be answered by referring to Ottertooth.com
Very comprehensive information on maps, canoe routes, campsites, dos and don'ts...etc

You might have the urge to camp on an island but if it's not a known/indicated campsite, it just might be a native burial ground. My advice is to camp where indicated.

YOU DON'T WANT A VISIT FROM THE WENDIGO !

Its everything you need to know about the Temagami area which includes:

Gowganda
Makobe
Niccolite
Wabi
Blanche
Ishpatina
Florence Lake
Lady Evelyn Lake
Anima Nipissing Lake
Lake Temiskaming
Wanapitei River
Sturgeon River
Lake Temagami
Northeast Arm of Lake Temagami
Four Bass Lake
Lake Wanapitei
Maskinonge Lake
Temagami River
Tomiko
Ottertail
