No worms in this one. Actually, the perch had some of the small yellow worms in them, which I removed as I came across them.

i've caught herring in Nip for years even in 45 ft and they were always wormy.Only the whitefish seem good which is odd as whitefish are on the bottom and herring are zipping along everywhere.

Smoker eh. Interesting. Have to try it sometime.

A friend of mine sent me a photo of a MASSIVE burbot that was caught the other day on Nip. Was it one of you members by chance? Would love to hear the story. Looked like it was caught mid-day, too. I figured most of them eat at night. Surprising or is that typical?

kenster - I agree as I have caught them for years and they are always full of those yellow grubs in the meat. Had a buddy up last year fishing and we caught a few. He kept them after I warned him. He took them home and they we fine.

I was out last weekend and my Son and I caught 5. I brought them home and cleaned them and there were no grubs. It must be something changes yearly. They sure have a lot of bones in them.
