Fished off Port Bolster 845 - 245pm. Taj still has minnows. A bit tricky getting on to the ice as it's thawed close to shore. I had chains on my atv so it climbed on no problem. Fantastic travel surface once you're on. Can't believe we only saw two other parties out! Ice is still solid at 22" where we fished. Low pressure with snow squalls killed the early bite. Had the camera down. Way more big female jumbos came through when compared to two weeks ago. Couldn't get them to bite until about 1230 then it got crazy. My friend and I must have caught over 100 perch and kept 26 of the piggies (11.5 - 13.5"). Weighed the biggest at home and it was 1.38lbs. Caught them on RealFlies Gammarus scuds and Chironomid flies. A few on a micro no-name jigging Rapala from Crappy Tire. Fish weren't interested in micro jigs with emerald minnow. Slab Grabbers and Pimples didn't even get a look. We tried some micro rubber gobies as well - nada.
