Went for a day trip to enjoy the nice weather and some blackflies today!
Played guide for my mom, and step dad, and had to double carry the portage to get their canoe in for them. They managed a little footlong Brookie and then a beauty 19" fish. Nicest I've seen in a while.

After a couple hours, they had to leave, so we portaged out, and off they went home.
Daughter and I stayed in the Park and fished somewhere new to me.

I said "I'll catch a fish this cast", and she said "I'll give ya a buck if you do",
And so, this was my $1.00 fish!
Best of my season so far, 17"

An awesome day indeed! Been years since I speck fished like that, I’ll have to get my son out one day for them too.

That's awesome Drew! That's one happy gal in the canoe with her dad. The color on them fillets though! Wow!

Very nice! I’ve been neglecting trout this spring.... maybe this week in the rain and bugs I’ll try.

Just awesome Drew Those are quality brookies and it's always nice to get family out...I am jealous again, cause I cannot do the portages anymore to get after those. Enjoy those great treats

Pretty darn good Drew. Looks like great weather, company and fish to boot. Not too shabby at all
