A Buddy at work will be on a lake East of Bancroft in a few weeks and needs a few tips on trying to catch some of the Splake that have been stocked there over the years.
Any suggestions would help

I would suggest sticking shallower than you'd think as water temps. still a bit on the cooler side... off drops and around beaver dams produced fairly well this past weekend. Feel free to PM me if you want to get into specifics, grew up on those lakes and don't mind giving some additional info as by then they may be harder to locate.

Blue J7 jointed rapalas (log perch pattern too) and slip float with a worm or minnow, i'd lean to worms. They swim along the shore now and on calm days can see the school circling the lake eating bugs. Later in summer id say 5-15 fow bouncing bottom with a jig head and a minnow/worm and or trolling. My one buddy swears to find the deepest hole in the lake and drop a live minnow on a hook to the bottom like a set line in the winter.... for the older fatter ones.... i havent seen any picture with him and one of those "fat ones" yet though lol.
