QUOTE (Donny135 @ Mar 25, 2020 - 08:58 pm)
I normally wouldn't ask this but I'm very very new to steelhead, especially in the winter. what river is this? I want to try for some steelhead in a couple of days but I have no idea where to go.

I've never caught a steelhead so any info will probably help. (sorry to be THAT GUY)

Asking for spot information is generally futile - and for good reason. But since you said any information will help: Steelhead season is generally closed right now. There are exceptions to this rule. There is a reason the exceptions exist where they do. Check the regs and go for a walk in one of those places with a couple of mepps spinners. Most guys will be float fishing and that takes a little more getting used to.

Hey Donny...Chuck is right about people not giving away specific spots. Any steelhead river with an open season section will have steelhead in it at this time of year.
Pick a river close to you and give it a try with spawn, spinners or spoons. Give people some room and be courteous.
If you have any questions about these methods give me a pm. If you want to know how to catch steelhead on a float ask anybody but me.😀
