Well, we finally did it last season.......that is sold the business and of course my favourite boat

She is now plying the waters of Georgian Bay.......gl to the new owner

I just wanted to say a huge Thank you to all the members of this board that have come out with me over the past 13 years and a big shout out to all the other fantastic people I have met from around the world in my 27 years of taking people out on charter fishing. Created memories for a lifetime

I am not 100 % retired as I love this sport so much and have made a deal with a great friend and charter Captain to do a specific number of outings on his boat for 2024 as I still have a base loyal crew that still wants to fish

i will also be fishing as much as I can on Erie for walleye on my 16 foot Smokercraft

rest of the time we will be at our off grid cottage enjoying life

Should you wish a salmon outing just get a hold of me directly

IN ending. thanks again for a great run of thousands of outings

Congratulations Werner

I've been retired since 1999.

Great to have the time to do the things you want to do, without that 4 letter word (WORK) getting in the way.

Now you are at where I have been for 15 years Shank and you will enjoy it immensely.....The best part is yet to come they say.....hey I fish GB....where is your old boat based out of....I will watch for its silhouette especially if it is in the Waubaushene to Pentang area....AKA the hole.

Good luck and have fun on your retirement Werner.

Enjoy retirement shank!

I retired in 2021 and even learned how to sleep again. I didn't think that would happen!

Big Lou is in trouble now! Enjoy extra time at your off the grid paradise!

Thanks Neil....and you are spot on.......It's a reat to not have to get up at 4 am for outings although once in a while i stil wake up and go into a panic thinking i am late for a trip and then realize i don't have one

still enjoy getting up early at the cottage and ya Big Lou is still waiting on me

Congrats Werner! Well deserved and enjoy the retirement.

Now you have more time to fish for yourself, nice quiet and peaceful..

I wish you the very best and keep doing what you love and the passion for this great sport.

Indeed great life long memories and still many more to come!

Cheers buddy! Raising my rum & coke.

Sounds like you’ll still be having a great time, congrats on your retirement! If I may ask…. What’s the biggest king to come in the boat over the years?…

Thanks

37 pound chinook

22 pound Coho

18 pound brown trout

25 pound Steelhead

35 pound lake trout

46 pound Sturgeon

If memory serves me correctly, most of those all came before 2016

best years for sheer numbers were 1998 to 2012
