Did our annual camping trip with most of the regular crew...dad, uncles, cousins, friends. Started off quick, we had our 4 fish limit in my boat within the first couple hours fishing. Headed back in to our site, and the other boats had a few lakers as well. Filleted our catch for a fish fry that evening. Nobody went hungry, that's for sure.
Next day, rain on and off, and hail. Still each of the 4 boats managed a fish or two. We got in the neighbourhood of 35 lakers I guess, releasing about half and bringing some home, too.
No giants, I guess my 4 lb fish was the biggest...I caught a couple tagged fish too, which I reported to the girl at the Harkness fish lab, as they're always interested in info and locations, size, etc.

A week later...(this past Saturday), my dad and I tried a new splake lake in the canoe for a couple hours. Lost two little guys under a pound near the canoe, then got a decent one approaching 4 lb.

Nice report did all of you fish from canoes ?? What depth you find the lakers at ??
No, the canoeing was just a day trip for splake...I combined two trips into one report.
On Opeongo, we had 4 boats, 2guys per boat. Can't say for sure on the other guys, but in my boat we got all our lakers between 55 and 75 feet, on bottom.
