Thankyou for the comments on last fridays fishing...this friday was cold windy and snowy...only 6 pike in 6 hours. Sorry not a very exciting day of fishing to report on but again who cares. I still had a good day.

There is pike in balsam lake, but the pike I have posted in the past few weeks are near my house in the river. I live not far from aberfoyle and have been fishing the same spot for decades. I mostly fish there in the fall, something to do and closer than driving three and a half hours to the family place near balsam. I do not keep the pike, just take a picture and off they go. My two friends and I are always catch and release in this spot so we can keep catching them for many years to come. My friend caught one 42 inches my best is 39 inches so we keep on hoping for the monsters to get bigger. You never know maybe come close to a record some day. There are some big monster pike in the grand and nith and conestoga rivers.
