I saw an advertisement for the above in my Great Lakes Angler magazine and I thought I would consider adding it to my "arsenal" of lures.

I was at Cabelas in Barrie and they don't have them and a phone call to Trombleys in Orillia was for nothing.

Has anyone used these lures? How did you find them?

Does anyone know where to buy them?

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

SDC

If i can use the real thing i wont try to imitate it. Would consider trying it if there was a shortage of herring/anchovys.

What KK said....we get our cut bait from Norway now in full boxes and then separate them into packages of 10..best I have used to date

there are plenty of imitations and they do catch, but I do not have the same confidence level as the real thing

Always had one on one of the rods this year on Lake O. We bought ours at the bait bucket in Barrie. Ran them on Dipsys, lead core, riggers. Just another option to have in the water. Did quite well on them this year. Always had 3 or 4 options in the water, spoons, flies, cut bait, lymans and freedoms.

I went to the Bait Bucket in Barrie this morning, before I saw the post by "lund"and yes he had them and I bought 4.

It is a construction mess around the Bait Bucket, but he is open for business. Ignore the road closed signs.

i bought one in the spring form Tom at the Bait Bucket but honestly didnt give it much water time this season. i tried it a few times with no success and went back to my confidence baits. it didnt seem to have much action in the water but its entirely possible i wasnt using it right. Would love to hear how people that had success were using it. i was trolling approx 1.7MPH.

I plan to use the lures for salmon on GB and Lake O in the Summer months.

Whenever, I troll for salmon, I usually am at 2.5 to 3.0 mph, except in the early Spring at Owen Sound, when I may be as slow as 1.0 mph.

When I started this thread on Nov. 26, I also sent an e-mail to the Company asking where I could buy the lures.

I received an auto response that they had received the e-mail and would get back to me.

Well, here it is Dec. 14th and I'm still waiting for them to get back to me.

Must be nice to be able to ignore potential customers!

As SD said, speed is critical, 2.5-3 mph will give it a nice roll, similar to a cut bait rig.
