Fishing on a river is not only allowed but encouraged by our Premier as long as social distancing is practiced. I myself am not participating but I hope everyone that does go, please catch some nice ones and post. My hope is that all that go, set a great example, make us look good and do us proud as fisherpeople. Please, everyone that fishes show the world and local kids how we adapt while in unusual situations. Please avoid name calling and telling people their wrong because you don't think it's right. Follow the laws the land , speak useful discussions and avoid self-righteousness. I think things would be a little more peaceful.

I went out for a bit this morning. Not a soul around.....also didnt find any brookies was nice to be out though.
Lucky, I changed my mind and went to a well known river. I got there at 5:30 and the lot was already full. Lots of guys camped the night. But I found a nice small pool farther up river and had by far the best opener in years. Landed 20+ fish and lost almost the same amount. I was by myself upstream but the majority of people were down in the popular spots. And honestly it was sad because they were right beside each other no distance being kept. Still a good day to be out. Atleast for me it was!

I have access to completely private Steelhead water that on a regular year has trespassers.
This year I knew it would be loaded with trespassers so I skipped the water all together so I could skid the fights. I instead hit some skinny water on another private property that I have access to for a nice Brown after the morning Turkey hunt.

Definitely wasn’t empty where I was. Busiest I’ve seen it, in the 10 years I’ve been going.
I boil the busyness down to all the locals who usually travel to the rivers further away, stayed close to home for covid reasons. All though really busy everyone I encountered was respectful of the social distancing rules and courteous enough to move off a path etc... for those who went out like myself, it was great to get a few hours of relaxation on the river. Well worth it !! landed 7, lost 3, Caught ton of Little ones too, more than usual. The bag bitters. They were everywhere.

Hi there. Nice catch for sure. As far as trespassing and avoiding fights goes, it is mention worthy to read over https://www.ontario.ca/page/lakes-and-river...istrative-guide under sections 1.4.3 and 1.4.4. May be running by private property but it isn't a private river.

JK7 the property I have access to is not an navigable water way. Also the property is owned on both sides by the same land owner. The water can be floated down but the bottom is owned by the land owner. This has been confirm many times but people still trespass which I believe would have been worse this opener.
